You can set a line thickness before you start drawing the actual line segment using the Property inspector panel. If the panel is not open, press   Ctrl  +  F3   . When the Line or Pencil tool is selected, the Property inspector displays options for controlling line thickness, style, and color of any strokes you draw on the Stage.
For example, to change the line thickness, drag the Stroke height slider up or down. You can apply a new line thickness to an existing line by first clicking the line to select it and then dragging the slider.

5. How do I keep a straight line vertical or horizontal?

Using the Line tool, press and hold down the Shift key and draw a line that is pretty much vertical or
horizontal. Flash makes the line perfectly vertical or horizontal. This trick also works when drawing a 45-degree line.

The quickest way to draw curves is to drag the Pen tool along with its handles on the Flash
